Different dimensions

I have been wanting to try a square format for a while. Dimensions of the picture is one of very few things that I have control over in terms of creating a photograph. So today, I walked around my house looking for something, nothing in particular, that would fit nicely into a square frame.

I couldn't find one. This one certainly looks like crap.

  2. Mark,

Very good eye. I am very impressed.

I just re-checked. It was actually 1/320 at f/7.1. ISO was 200. I just switched to LR 3, and not quite used to it. On library mode, i had the adjacent picture high lighted and I copied off its meta data.

I am going to leave it the way it is to see if anybody would notice. I am going to check the other meta data also.

    Thanks dude.

  3. Let us readers know more about your experience with LR as you go. I was pretty well set on getting Aperture until I read your recent post on it. I have a lot of old .PEF photos from my k100d days, but have been shooting in .DNG since I got the K7.

I am using iPhoto and occasionally Gimp. I really want the localized editing features that the more advanced programs offer.

  4. Mark,

    Thanks for your comment.

I say you go with LR3. Adobe has better RAW support than Apple. Transition to LR3 from Aperture has been tedious, but has been worth it. Not one file that Aperture cannot handle gave LR3 problems.

I will blog about that on later date.
