Ginger bread cookie house
Mother, grandma, and my little girl were at it all yesterday and this morning. Quite impressive, really. Still it does not change my opinion of Christmas though. Halloween is far better.

Days like this
Here in Southern California for the last week or so it has been uncharacteristically cold of late, with temperature dipping into high 30's F at night. During the day, when the sun is out like this it is quite nice. Days like this, as cold as it is, is when I pull the top down and enjoy the sky. Yes it is cold, but it sure does clear your sinus like no other.

Saving a life
This is called a Berlin Heart. This is an assist device, works just like a pump, that helps a failing heart. It sits outside of the body, drains blood out of the heart, and pumps it right back into the body, to augment cardiac output. What is on the bottom is the pneumatic device that drives it. This little thing saved a life of a 6 year old boy this past week. We put this kid on this pump, just in the nick of time. He made it, as he got a new heart (in a way of heart transplant) a couple of days ago. He is already sitting up on his bed, playing Nintendo.

Over exposure part 4 (or something like that)
It is purely a matter of preference, but I am finding out that I am quite fond of pictures that are so very well over exposed. From the technical standpoint this is such a crappy picture, but I like it very much. Pentax digital cameras traditionally thought to under expose; so when I want an effect like that I really have to do it like I mean it.

That time of the year again, eh?
Not a big fan of Christmas. It is nothing but a scam. I am not sure what the motivation behind writing a story like "Christmas Carol," but Dickens even came up with a name for people like myself who are not so fond of Christmas. It is politically wrong to not like Christmas, and I don't appreciate society not allowing to not enjoy Christmas like I deserve to. Jesus.

It breaks my heart
My dad just turned 80 years old this past May. Until now he was able to see his grand daughter daily. It breaks my heart to see that now he does not get to see her daily, and not one bit of it was because of his own doing. He deserves more than this. It is a complete bullshit, and it really pisses me off. But, nobody is better at "living" than my dad is. Despite this horse shit that he has to put up with, he maintains a positive outlook on life, and looks forward to seeing his grand daughter for the next time.

Going away party
